Why is my domain stuck on “pending DNS”?
DNS propagation usually takes minutes but can take up to 48 hours at some hosts. Check the three CNAME records are exact — the name includes ._domainkey. and the value ends in .dkim.amazonses.com. The dashboard re-checks automatically.
Do replies really come back without me running a mail server?
Yes. Outbound emails carry a reply address on Sharkmail’s reply domain; replies land on our inbound worker and are routed to your conversation by that address. You never touch MX records.
What counts as a message for billing?
One accepted outbound email API call. Inbound replies, opens, clicks, and dashboard usage are free. There is no per-contact or per-seat charge.
Can I try it without any vendor accounts?
Yes — mock mode is the default. Sign in with demo mode, send with the sk_test_local key, and use the “Simulate reply” button to watch the full loop.
